Take Charge of Your Health with Lingzhi (Ganoderma)

Below is the excerpt of Dr Chen Deng Hai’s talk. He is the current General Manager of Shuang Hor Group’s Lingzhi Biotechnology Park, as well as principal researcher. We usually address him as 陈博士 (Prof Chen).

He visited Singapore on 28 & 29 July 2016 to give the seminar “Lingzhi for Immune Modulation, Its Evidence & Application” in English & Mandarin respectively. I met him in May 2016 when I visited the Lingzhi Biotechnology Park and the factory.

Prof Chen is a man without airs, who patiently answers our questions. If the condition, such as Parkinson disease, cannot be resolved by Lingzhi (it can only help to slow down the degeneration process), he will tell you frankly.

I attended the English one on my birthday and the content totally blew my mind. It’s one of the memorable birthdays I ever had. I’ve been taking Shuang Hor’s Yung Kien Ganoderma (scientific name for ‘Lingzhi’) for more than 1 year and it has helped me to recover faster from two illnesses.

Lingzhi as the Top-Grade Crude Drug that is Free from Toxicity

“Extensive research has led to the discovery that, as a medicinal fungus of multi-functional benefits, Lingzhi is blessed with an exhaustive range of pharmacological actions. These include in particular immune modulation, liver protection, anti-aging, anti-allergy, prevention and treatment of cancerous diseases, and mitigating AIDS.

Besides, Lingzhi also acts as an adjunct therapy against hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), diabetes, and a long-list of chronic diseases, in addition to exhibiting amazing efficacy in enhancing our learning faculty and improving memory.

According to ancient medical books dating back to more than 2,000 years ago, Lingzhi is free from any naturally occurring toxicity.

In their experiments, modern-day medical researchers directly fed mice with a Lingzhi diet until they died of natural death.

Upon dissection, the scientists discovered that the internal organs of the mice has not been affected by any form of toxicity.

In fact, the Lingzhi diet proved to be safer for consumption than common edible mushrooms as in the control group.

We also carried out similar toxicity tests by feeding mice with an extremely high dose of Shuang Hor Supreme Ganoderma.

28 days later, results showed that there was absolutely no traceable toxicity. The dosage used was equivalent to a continuous human consumption of as many as 8 bottles of the product on a daily basis.

It is thus evident that Lingzhi is safe for long-term consumption.

30 years on since the establishment of Shuang Hor, well over 2 million consumers have taken our Lingzhi products and there has not been any known adverse effects, serving to again testify beyond the slightest doubt that Lingzhi is a top-grade crude drug, one that is non-toxic and safe.

Yung Kien Ganoderma is Proud Winner of Exclusive Double Accreditation

Yung Kien Ganoderma is the first Lingzhi product in Taiwan to be awarded both the Immune Modulation Accreditation and Liver Protection Accreditation.

For nearly 4 decades, none of the close to 500 accredited health food products in Taiwan has ever won such an exclusive double accreditation like ours, which comes with multi-functional health benefits.

To date, Yung Kien Ganoderma of Shuang Hor is still in a class of its own in terms of an all-round efficacy.

With the objective of enabling patients of critical diseases to also benefit from the same efficacy as that of its predecessor Yung Kien Ganoderma but with much lesser dosage, we have succeeded in developing Yung Kien Ganoderma 2 through a cutting edge purification technique.

This is so that such patients are no longer bugged with the problem of difficulty in swallowing high dosages of the product.

Balance as the Ultimate Benchmark of Modulating our Immune System

The immune system, which is essentially made up of white blood cells, manifests itself as the self-healing power that the human body is endowed with. For our normal health, the total count of white blood cells in our body should be in the range of 4,000 to 9,000.

When the count of white blood cells exceeds 10,000, it indicates an imminent onset of inflammation in the body.

On the other hand, when the count falls below 3,000, it indicates a weak immunity, rendering our body susceptible to infections.

The air around us is known to be occupied by large numbers of bacteria, germs, viruses, and various harmful airborne particles.

In an effort to combat these intruders with greater power, our immune system also constantly evolves with the changing environment.

In contrast to senior citizens (people with aging immune system) or children (people with a developing immune system), the great majority of adults have a strong immune system.

Does this mean that strengthening our immunity is the key to preserving an optimal health?

Actually, the ideal state for holistic wellness is one that is characterised by a balanced immune system through modulation instead of strengthening it.

This is because an excessively strong immunity tends to lose control, causes an abnormally large count of white blood cells.

Take for example, many people fell prey to the SARS outbreak in 2013 not because the victims had a weak immune system.

Rather, the reverse was true, as the dominant presence of white blood cells killed the healthy cells in their lungs, resulting in eventual death. In the final analysis, our immune system needs to be constantly modulated so that it remains on an optimal state of balance.

[Sharon: It reminds me of Traditional Chinese Medicine yin and yang philosophy.]

Lingzhi is the Modulator for the Immune System

As an organism that is considered “alive” at one time but could be “dead” at the other, virus is the prime origin of our health problems. The virus is lifeless when it is in isolation.

By the time it resides in a living host cell, it springs into life and starts inflicting harm to the host.

That explains why it is difficult for us to ascertain if a virus is a living or dead organism.

The virus that has inhibited in a host cell possesses an unstable genetic material called RNA. This active RNA is released into the inside of the host cell where it wreaks havoc, infesting into a mutated variant.

This characteristic of virus infection explains the cropping up of so many variants of viruses on this planet nowadays, so much so the speed at which a virus manifests itself into a new variant is always faster than the speed at which a corresponding vaccine is developed.

As such, maintaining a healthy level of immunity is the only means with which we can effectively address problems associated with viral attacks, and the best approach is to modulate the immune system.

Our more than 40 years of research has led to the conclusion that Lingzhi is the ideal modulator based on rigorous scientific experimentation.

In simple words, when a virus duplicates itself, it requires the presence of a neuraminidase enzyme, without which nothing would happen.

Many of the antiviral drugs are developed by way of studying “How could the neuraminidase enzyme be inhibited”.

The extracts of Lingzhi rise to the occasion with their ability in inhibiting neuraminidase enzymes.

What’s more, the Lingzhi family showcases as many as 31 types of ganoderic acids that exhibit varying degrees of inhibiting actions.

Viruses gain entry into the human body via the nose and mouth. Hence, these areas are more prone to the build-up of viruses.

When a large number of white blood cells are mobilized and rushed into the tranchea, bronchi, and the lung to combat the viruses, inflammation occur.

When T-cells enter into the various respiratory organs, they differentiate into 2 types of cells, namely TH1 (which kills viruses) and TH2 (which alleviates allergy).

The ideal active ratio between these two would be a higher level of TH1 over a lower level of TH2.

Lingzhi possesses a remarkable modulation ability to help achieve this ratio, whereupon more viruses are exterminated and the allergic condition relieved, thus tuning the immune system to a state of constant perfection.

Promotes the Proliferation of Immune Cells

A weak immunity is attributed to an excessively low count of white blood cells, leading to a decreased ability in combating viruses! In the past, poor nutrition used to be the cause of a weakening immune system. In modern time, the bane is mostly diseases.

That explains why people with an excessively weak immunity are more vulnerable to infections!

Chemotherapy, bone marrow insufficiency, HIV etc. are some of the major culprits behind the development of a weak immunity. Our research of 40 over years have revealed that Lingzhi is capable of increasing the count of white blood cells.

Notably, our Yung Kien Ganoderma is exceptional in promoting the proliferation of immune cells, constituting one of the 7 major attributes to qualify for health food accreditations, and this is credited to the content of “high-molecular-weight polysaccharides” in Lingzhi.

Nevertheless, there are many types of polysaccharides found in Lingzhi. In order to single out the most efficacious type of polysaccharides, we managed to get the purest form of glucan after many rounds of purification process.

However, this glucan constitutes less than 0.1% of the raw materials.

Results of animal test show that the availability of glucan not only contributes to increasing the count of white blood cells, but also imparting the immune system with the capability to identify the malignant cells at an accuracy rate of up to 50%, which is an increment of up to a whopping 2.5 times over the original source.

No thanks to the fact that the content of glucan is simply too low in the raw materials, a high consumption amount is thus required to achieve the intended health-giving results.

Lingzhi is indeed the ideal food supplement for health preservation and this we ascribe to its multiple functionality and impeccable safety for consumption.

Shuang Hor Group not only has its own Lingzhi Biotechnology Park for large scale cultivation of Lingzhi, but also its own Yung Kien Factory for the extraction and final production of its comprehensive range of Lingzhi products.

On top of these, we also put in place our own Biotechnology R&D Institute. From cultivation to production and to marketing, we take charge of the entire supply chain.

In other words, the Lingzhi products of Shuang Hor are the perfect choice you can ever find!”
