Your Beauty Holy Grail: SK-II R.N.A. Power Review (Part 1)

Who hasn’t heard about their star ingredient, Pitera and its miracle water – Facial Treatment Essence?

SK-II is among some of the world’s best known prestigious beauty brand names. It comes as no surprise that it is one of P&G’s Billion-Dollar Brands – where only brands with more $1 billion in annual sales are listed.

All thanks to Pitera, the poster ingredient of the SK-II line. At a chance observation of workers at a sake brewery in Japan, the scientists noticed that only the hands of the elderly workers were kept smooth, clear and younger-looking.

After years of research, they discovered a naturally-occurring yeast that could produce a nutrient-rich ferment filtrate.

P&G brands it ‘Pitera’, which is the trade name for galactomyces ferment filtrate. According to Mr Takashi Yoshii, senior manager for Global Technical Marketing at P&G’s Kobe Technical Center, SK-II’s Pitera is not a yeast extract, but rather, a metabolic solution generated in the fermentation process of a unique strain of yeast.

And ever since, SK-II is synonymous with crystal clear skin and is endorsed by A-list celebrities such as Cate Blanchett and Tang Wei. Every SK-II product contains Pitera, which has been proven to transform skin in as little as 14 days.

With a blend of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids, Pitera is similar in composition to the skin’s structure and function. It helps to increase the metabolic rate of skin cells. As a result, it rejuvenates the skin’s renewal process.

7 Benefits of Pitera:

  1. Rejuvenates the skin’s renewal process
  2. Replenishes and retains moisture
  3. Tones the skin texture
  4. Restores the skin’s pH level
  5. Lighten dark spots
  6. Soothes sunburned skin (e.g. wound healing)
  7. Helps to control the sebum secretion

Anti-Aging Technology: Pitera x R.N.A. (Radical New Age) Complex

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age - Bag

I have heard so much about this beauty brand and raves, but truth to be told, I hadn’t use any of their products before.

So you could imagine my ecstasy (I was on cloud nine) when I was gifted with not one, but TWO products from SK-II for my review.

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence, 30ml, SGD156

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age, 50g, SGD149

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age (Essence & Cream)

Both products replace their Stempower range and are upgraded with groundbreaking anti-aging technology, R.N.A. Power, to target these 10 telltale signs of aging:

  1. Loss of firmness
  2. Dryness
  3. Fine lines and wrinkles
  4. Sallowness
  5. Lack of resilience
  6. Visible pores
  7. Sagging skin
  8. Lack of radiance
  9. Roughness
  10. Loss of tightened facial contours

Pitera x R.N.A. Complex will holistically target the multi-controller of firmness, to achieve lengthwise firmness x crosswise firmness by rejuvenating skin cells and promoting structural protein synthesis in every cell and all layers of the skin.

SK-II Singapore CM feat. Tang Wei

SK-II has already ushered in this new generation of anti-aging skincare line in China, with Wallace Huo as the Brand Name Ambassador of The China Region.

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age - Wallace Huo

I’m all over the moon to try the same products as Wallace. Just to update you up to speed, Wallace is the lead actor in the hugely popular Chinese novel-adapted-drama The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu). He’s two years older than me, yet his skin…look at it!

OMG, totally flawless. I’m so jealous.

SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age - Wallace Huo

If SK-II brings in Wallace Huo for meet-and-greet, he will bring the house down with his fans. It’s a fangirl’s wish (P&G, I know you’re reading this… :p). Tang Wei is after all the ambassador for Asia and a more famous one; It makes total marketing ROI sense to get her come to Singapore and promote SK-II.

One can hope, right? 🙂

P.S.: All product shots, except Wallace’s, are taken by yours truly. Product photography is my forte and I do it in my work too, because I cannot stand poorly taken photos. If you want to grab the product packshots, by all means. All I ask is to attribute them back to me: “© Sharon Lee” and link to Thank you.
